It was Valentines Day and I wanted to give my boyfriend something special. Of course I knew what he wanted…me wearing as little as possible. I’d just got back from the mall where I bought a new sexy, black teddy and some long lace fingerless gloves to go with it. I set my package on the bed and went to take a shower before he came home from work. I planned to make him a drink when he got home wearing my new gift. We had dinner plans that night but there was plenty of time for whatever caught his fancy. When I stepped out of the shower I heard paper being torn and walked into the bedroom to see what all the commotion was. “Get out!” I yelled at Ceasar, his golden retriever who jumped off the bed and bolted from the room with my new teddy in his mouth.
I chased him through the house and finally caught him but it was too late…my new teddy was in shreds! After I got done swearing at the dog I walked back upstairs and felt some tears coming on. I wanted this night to be perfect and now my surprise was ruined. I heard my boyfriend come in and had to think of something quick. Oh well I thought, looks like he’ll get more (or less) of surprise than I had planned. I put on the black panties and lace fingerless gloves, at least the dog didn’t get those, and walked downstairs.
“Hi hon” I said as I gave him a quick kiss and went into the kitchen to make us some drinks. He was speechless! “Happy Valentines Day” I said casually as if everything was perfecty normal. I told him his dog ate my gift and this was all that was left. He didn’t say a word just followed me into the kitchen, picked me like a bride and carried me upstairs. We just barely made our dinner reservation and had a great laugh and a great dinner. Afterwards, we went back home and he begged me to show him my Valentines Day gift again.
That was twenty five years ago. We were married two years later and still going strong. I kept the lace fingerless gloves and wear them every Valentines Day and we both laugh and feel 25 all over again. I’ll keep those gloves forever!
